Born into minor nobility in the city of Drakkenheim on an unknown day in Midyear of year 1,108, Felix was the oldest of 3 siblings. His father was in charge of a guild within the city, and House von Yaeger was rapidly rising in status within Drakkenheim's nobility during Felix's early childhood. On Autumntide 1st of year 1,111, Felix left with his father on a business trip to the port city of Drannsmund, set to return on the 17th. They were nearly in sight of the Drakkenheim when the meteor fell, almost able to bear witness to the the impact that wiped out the von Yeager manor along with the rest of the city. The ultimate fate of Felix's mother and two younger siblings is unknown, but likely tragic.
Felix's father joined in the first expedition to retake the now cursed city, desperate to know for certain the fate of his wife and 2 youngest children. He entered the city with the first wave in year 1,112, and never exited. As far as Felix knows, his entire immediate bloodline now lays dead in the cursed city. With no family left, Felix was adopted by a troop of soldiers under the banner of Mannfred von Kessel that arrived just after the failure of the first expedition, and spends the next 7 years traveling with them across Westamar throughout the civil war. He trained with the soldiers, kept watch, and tended to the camp, but the soldiers refused to allow him to fight alongside them in battle due to his age. In year 1,119, Felix was tasked with gathering supplies one day by his unit. While he was out in the woods to gather some of the herbs needed to create healing potions requested by the unit physician, the Steelfang Mercenary Company slaughtered his adoptive family during the assassination of Mannfred von Kessel.
After the end of the civil war in year 1,119, Felix was once again left without a family and without a path forward. He decided that he would use his training, his skills, and his rage for a positive mission rather than burn in a blaze of glory: he is going to rebuild House von Yaeger. A few months after the unofficial end of the civil war, Felix travelled to Drannsmund to learn of his father's former businesses within the city; he remembered that fateful business trip of his childhood, and was determined to uncover what presence of his family remained in the city of merchants. Unfortunately, he learned little; nothing of his fathers former work was left in the city. However, Felix managed to set up a foundation, building a meagre sum of wealth through a combination of odd jobs and hunting contracts, then buying a small home just outside the city.
Upon hearing about the formation of a 4th expedition into Drakkenheim, Felix set out to join what would become the Hooded Lanterns in year 1,123. He becomes an early member of the Hooded lanters, being one of the first to foray past the outer walls since the 3rd expedition. While his initial intention for joining the 4th expedition was to reclaim Drakkenheim and his ancestral home, he quickly realized that the delirium trade may be the path to financially rebuilding House von Yaeger. He established a contact with the Amethyst Academy, through which he directly sells some of the delirium that he finds. He now fights in the cursed city for more than just finding his old home; he now fights for the chance to rebuild it.
It is just after one of Felix's trips to the Amethyst academy that the campaign begins, and unfortunately it went as wrong as it could have. On his way to Altbruke, Felix was ambushed by a large group of bandits belonging to The Queen's Men. They robbed him of everything he had: the delirium he was delivering to the Amethyst Academy, the portion of his fortune that he was carrying with him, and even the equipment and clothes on his back. He made his way back to Drannsmund, where he took what remained of his fortunes that he'd stored away and bought new equipment. Re-armed and with even more enemies, he now prepares to return to the dead city.
